Overall
The Walters Racing team (4 cars) is always looking for support regarding sponsorships. We are a team with two very young drivers with great potential. They both have a great racing career's ahead of them. There is always a large crowd at Dirt events and special karting events such as Rock Island Grand Prix (Sprint Kart Street Race), Las Vegas Super Nationals, and STARS of Karting Races all of which we plan on attending this upcoming 2006 season. The regular karting races at SLKA have a decent crowd also and admission is free. However, this is not our main focus. We currently run the top level of karting "Professional Karting" in the Snap-On Stars of Karting Series. This is a very popular level of racing and brings in a lot of spectators. Our home Dirt track I-55 Raceway is owned by Nascar Star Kenny Schrader which pulls a large number of fans to the track. I-55 pulls in more fans on a weekly bases then any track in our area. They also have quite a few special shows that pull in an extra 3,000 or more fans to the track such as The World of Outlaws and Xtreme Dirt Car Series.
Dirt Program
Shane races a UMP Dirt Sportsman across the Mid-West. His home track is I-55 Raceway a highly popular track in the Dirt racing world. The amount of fans this track brings a business, club, or anything in advertising can get a lot of recognition just by sponsoring our race team. Dirt racing in general is growing very fast in popularity with many different TV stations covering different series of Dirt racing. The past few years NASCAR drivers have been dropping down to race Dirt during there off time and it is magnifying the amount of fans in this type of racing and things are only to get better as the years progress. We are looking to run for a top 30 in National UMP Sportsman Points as well as a top 10 in Missouri UMP Points.
Karting Program
We are continuing to get better as a karting team along with our Dirt program. We are visiting the events with the toughest competition including the very popular Rock Island Grand Prix. This is a very cool track and event which is formed by closing downtown Rock Island, IL and making a kart track out of the streets. Many locals stop by to watch some of the most exciting kart racing in the world which helps to benefit our sponsors. We also visit the Las Vegas Supernationals which is another great and famous karting event that brings some very tough competition. We also run the Snap-On Stars of Karting Series which is "Professional Karting" as it is the very top level. This series is very popular and each and every event brings in many spectators for the area and around the country. Our home kart track The St. Louis Karting Assoc. is again a very popular karting track which brings some of the best national competitors. As you can see we challenge ourselves to become better as a team finding the toughest competition and challenging them which can only brings good things to come.
Future Plans 2007 and up
As of right now Walters Motorsports is learning everything we possibly can with the small budget we have and competing in as many races as possible to learn, improve as drivers, and get ready for the future. We are never positive as to where we are heading but, as of right now it looks as though Shane will soon move up to a UMP Modified or travel the Fastrak Crate Engine Late Model Tour. We are waiting to see how far this new Late Model class takes off and we will make our decision over the upcoming winter. He will also be moving up to a 125cc Shifter kart trading in his TaG 125cc kart in the near future. Shane will still run his Intrepid chassis as it is a very good chassis the best one he has ever driven. Evan we are also unsure of, as he will either be staying in the TaG 125cc Jr. class and JICA Class or he will move up to a 125cc Shifter with Shane. Far into the future both Shane, Evan, and maybe even Dan plan to run full blown UMP Late Model's competitively.
