(St. Louis, MO - July 24th, 2005) -- Unlike Saturday at SLKA points race # 8, Sunday went pretty smooth for Walters Motorsports. Just to start things off Evan would grab the lead in qualifying and Shane would Qualify 3rd. On the start of the pre-final, Sam Miles who started 2nd would jump in front of Evan however, he would quickly re-take the lead. Shane would follow closely in 3rd as all three karts were running pretty close to the same times. After a few laps Shane would take 2nd away from Miles and would finish 2nd to Evan as he would take the Pre-Final win. For the Final, Evan and Shane would pull away from 3rd place Sam Miles and would run bumper to bumper for many laps. Unfortunately, as they were moving through slower traffic a driver from another class would be moved out of the way by the lead kart of Evan going into turn 9, Shane who was right behind him would get chopped off by the slower kart and got tangled up with the other driver. They would break free of each other but going down the straight away after the incident the other driver would pinch Shane to the inside of the straight which gave him trouble for the next turn which happed to be the tightest. The other driver would get back around Shane but, in the very next corner Shane would finally move around him.

Unfortunately, by this time Evan had pulled away by over 10 kart lengths so the bumper to bumper race would turn into a cakewalk for Evan. Evan would go on to win the 16 lap feature and Shane would take a very unhappy 2nd. This makes Evan's 3rd win of the season. We also had plans to head to Tri-City Speedway tonight but, we will not be able to make it as we are just to tired to make it due to being in the sun 2 days in a row. We do have plans to hit a lot of DIRT races over the next few weeks with karting's few week break.
