(St. Louis, MO - August 14th, 2005) -- We knew we where going to be in trouble this weekend all week. We knew we would get rained on but, we decided we had to try anyway. We were on our way to I-55 Raceway yesterday when it starting raining really hard and the winds where blowing like crazy. A lot of people where pulling off the side of the highway, not us we just kept driving/ The rain stop only 1 mile from the track. After a while it started drizzling at the track but, soon stopped. They worked the track in for the longest time we didn't start hot laps until 8:30. We finally went out for hot laps and the track was very tacky from them working the water deep in the track surface. It was going to be a very fast track all night long. We felt confident on the set-up in our car and Hovis Racing Engines got our motor problems all worked out. We have been having overheating problems all year and they got it fixed as the motor didn't get very hot in hot laps. They made it through all the hot laps. They went to start the first Modified heat race when the rain started pouring. They were forced to cancel as the track was just to slick to work in for another 2 hours plus another storm would be on the way at midnight. We were worried we might also be rained out for Tri-City Speedway today as well. As of 9:45 this morning they had called the races at Tri-City as well. Our whole weekend had now been rained out. We look forward to next week at I-55 Raceway as we now have our motor problems solved. We will also be competing at SLKA as Shane will look to increase his Championship lead and Evan will make an attempt to get 2nd in the Championship battle
