Shane runs 16th at I-55 Raceway's Season Championship Motor problems rise again

(St. Louis, MO - September 12th, 2005) -- We went into I-55 Raceway's Season Championship event with high hopes as this is our first DIRT race in the past 2 weeks. We have been on the road with karting and NASCAR the past 2 weeks and were happy to be back behind the wheel of the number 9 Caribbean Creme Impressive built Sportsman. However, the night started off bad and got worse. In hot laps, the car seemed to be working fine but, it was a little tight. In the heat race, we were starting 3rd and by the first 4 laps had moved from 3rd place back to 2nd to last. The car would cut out almost stall coming out of the corners and we would loss a ton of straightaway speed. We have been fighting this problem the past few weeks and just have not been able to figure it out. Every time we think we have it worked out it comes back again. We have a solid top 10 car every week but, this problem keeps bitting us and killing our results. In the feature, we were starting 17th due to point standings. We made up a few positions but, not near enough for us to be happy as we were also getting passed.

We ended up with a very frustrating 16th place finish. There are only a few races left the end out the 2005 season and we will most likely figure out our problem over the winter but, as of now we might just have to deal with it or park it. The last thing we want to do is park it so we will just continue searching for our motor problem and hopefully we will get it sorted out before our next DIRT event at I-55 Raceway October 1st with the World of Outlaw Late Models for the PEPSI Nationals. We we would really like to have a decent finish at this race so wish us luck.
