2006 Schedule and Upcoming Season Plans

(St. Louis, MO - February 5th, 2006) -- Walters Motorsports was very successful at reaching there goals in the 2005 season. We are now stepping up both our dirt and karting program for the 2006 racing season. We feel we will be able to do this successfully and we are currently preparing ourselves for the very aggressive schedule we have completed. During the upcoming season we plan to either have an all dirt weekend or all karting weekend there will be no combination as there was last year. So on dirt weekends we will run double events and on karting weekends there will be a day for practice and a day for racing.

In the UMP Dirt Sportsman Car we plan to run at I-55 Raceway Saturday and Tri-City Speedway on Sunday. This will be on out dirt weekends, with Shane Walters again piloting the car. We are going to try and run for a top 30 run in UMP National Sportsman Points (www.UMPRacing.com). They will count your best 20 finishes for points and even with us leaving dirt racing for karting on many weekends this still should not be much of a problem to achieve. Right now we have over 30 dirt events so we should be ok. We learned a lot last year and we plan to come out with full steam to try and accomplish these tough goals.

In the karts where the drivers are both Shane and Evan Walters we are going to try and do something a little different this year. We are taking it to the top level of karting, yes "Professional Karting." Both drivers will be competing in the Snap-On Stars of Karting Series (www.StarsofKarting.com). Shane will run the TaG 125cc Class (Spec Class) and Evan will be running the JICA class. The events in this series will be held in the following cities; Norman, OK, New Castle, IN, Charlotte, NC, Shawano, WI, and the finals will be held in Toronto, CAN. Both drivers have goals of finishing in the top 10 in points for the Stars of Karting East Series. This goal will be very hard to achieve as it is the very top level of karting. We are looking forward to the upcoming season.
